Four Seasons

One card at the centre, four zones around it by element: fire = action, water = feeling, air = thought, earth = matter. This puts the elemental grounding of the first four chapters straight to work — which zone is strong, which is weak, and the shortfall is visible at a glance.

  1. Core theme

The overall theme of this period. Set the key first, then read the four zones.

  2. Action / Wands, fire

The energy in career, drive and momentum.

  3. Feeling / Cups, water

The energy in relationships, mood and inner life.

  4. Thought / Swords, air

The energy in ideas, decisions and communication.

  5. Matter / Pentacles, earth

The energy in money, health and practical reality.

COMMON MISREADINGS

  • Reading all four zones with equal weight — the value of this spread is finding the weak zone; that zone is the period's work.
  • Splitting core from zones — the core gives the theme, the zones the capacity; read the layers together (Tower core + four steady zones = a shock absorbed).
  • Treating a zone's card as a verdict on that life area — it is an energy state, and only with the core does it become a conclusion.
